[754] Obituary, Boston Herald, January 16, 2000.
Dr. Robert "Skip" Delbert CROOK of South Dennis, a psychologist, died
last Friday at Cape Cod Hospital in Hyannnis. He was 69.
Born in Greenfield and raised in Waltham, Dr. CROOK graduated from
Waltham High School and attended Kansas State University, where he
studied vedterinary medicine and played quarterback for the football
team. He left his freshman year to enlist in the US Army. After
attending Officer Candidate School, Dr. CROOK became a first
lieutenant and served as a company commander for the 45th Infantry
Division in Korea. He was awarded two Silver Stars and two Bronze
Stars for gallantry in action and was recommended for the
Congressional Medal of Honor. He also received two purple hearts for
being wounded in action. Upon returning from the war, Dr. CROOK
received his undergraduate degree from the University of Tampa. He
then taught biology and coached football at Steven's High School in
Claremont, NH., for a number of years before moving to Arizona, where
he obtained his doctorate form the University of Arizona. After
graduation, he spent time in Foxboro and Portsmouth, NH., before
settling in South Dennis, where he ran his own psychological practice
and worked as a consultant in the Massachusetts School System. He is
survived by his wife, Enid Bassett of South Dennis; a sister, Betty
ZAMPELL of Hollywood, Fla.; a daughter, Celine CROOK-FONES of South
Dennis; three sons, Robert Delbert Jr. of Wayland, Douglas Ellis of
Yarmouthport and Lincoln Thatcher of South Dennis; one nephew and
seven grandchildren. A memorial service was held yesterday at the
Hyannis VFW, Hyannis. Burial of Mr. CROOK's ashes was in South Dennis
Congregational Cemetery. Arrangements by Sperry & McHoul Funeral
Services, North Attleboro.

Obit: Marion, Indiana Chronicle Dec. 6, 1946 CORDELIA GRAY RITES
MONDAY Rev. Milo BOWSMAN, pastor of George St. Wesleyan Methodist
church will officiate at funeral rites for Mrs Cordelia Jane GRAY,
sixty-seven, at 2pm Monday at 2901 South Washington St.. Burial will
be in I.O.O.F. cemetery. Mrs GRAY died at the home of a son Roy GRAY,
1327 South Branson St. at 7pm Thursday. She had been in ill health.
Mrs. GRAY had resided in Marion since 1907. She is survived by three
sons, Ermila, Jell and Roy GRAY, all of Marion, three daughters, Mrs.
Howard RAMSEY, Mrs. Cryl WESTENDORF and Mrs. Alfred RODMAN, Marion, a
brother, Lewis FAWNS, Oakland, Cal., 15 grandcchildren and 10
greatgrandchildren. Body will be taken to Branson street address
Saturday to remain until rites.

mustered in the Army on MAY 16, 1861 BY Col. Robert M. MAYO. Henry
was reported missing after the Battle of Frederickburg, VA. on DEC.
13, 1862. He was shot in the groin during the fighting. Henry was
taken prisoner and died in a Washington D.C. military hospital on JAN.
27, 1863. The blankets that he owned were sold for $0.25. He is
buried in the Confederate section of Arlington Cemetery, Arlington
County VA.(Section 16, Plot 262). Samuel T. REAMY acted as the
attorney who represented the family on their claim. against the
Confederate Government.
