Isle of Wight CO. VA., Will of Matthew FONES dated Oct.11,1703. Robert
FONES was listed as a son Matthew FONES.
Robert FONES will Isle of Wight CO. VA. dated 03/01/1753, probated on
11/02/1758. In the name of God, Amen. I, Robert FONES, being sick
and weak of body but of perfect mind and memory, thanks be to God for
the same, do make this my last will and testament in manner and form
following. I recomment my soul to God and my body to be buried in a
Christian like manner at the discretion of my executor hereafter named
and also my worldly affairs I dispose of in manner following: I give
and bequeath the use of all my estate to my loving wife Elizabeth
during her natural life and after her decease I give and bequeath all
the said estate to my son John, to him and his heirs forever and I do
make and appoint my said son John my full and sole executor. In
witness whereof I have hereunto set my hand affixed my seal this first

At a Court Held for Isle of Wight Co.-NOV 2, 1758 the last will and
testament of Robert FONES deceased was presented in Court by John
FONES, the executor herein named who made oath thereto and being
