BIO:The "Northern Neck" Newspaper of Richmond CO. VA. Jan. 17, 1908
Fones--Frank FONES was born December 28, 1884; died Oct. 12, 1907,
being 23yrs, 9 mos. and 15days old at his death. He was a good boy
from his youth, well liked by all who knew him, and two years ago
became a Christian and joined Jerusalem Baptist Church. On his death
bed he told his parents he had done the best he could to live as a
Christian and felt satisfied with his faith in Christ and hope of a
heavenly home.
It appears that he never married.
The "Northern Neck" Newspaper of Richmond CO. VA. Oct. 18, 1907 Frank
FONES, aged about 24 years, son of Mr. Thomas FONES, near Farnham,
this county, died on Starurday night last, after an illness of
Typhoid Fever.

Willis Lucas WAYTS started life in Stamping Ground, KY., moving to
Frankfort, KY. in his early years and then to GeorgeTown, KY. where
he with his father and older brother opened the lumber firm of "J. P.
WAYTS & CO.. He attended at Georgetown College. He was licensed to
preach by the First Baptist Church of Frankfort on Jan. 10, 1889,
where he had been a member for many years. On Sept. 10, 1890 he
married Marion WOLFORD of Lancaster. His early married years were
spent as a student at the Southern Baptist Theological Seminary at
Louisville, KY.. He was ordained at the Walnut Street Baptist Church
in Louisville, KY. on December 14, 1892. He began active ministry in
Ky. where his pastorates included Pleasure Rich Park, Morganfield and
Uniontown. At the outbreak of the Spanish American War, he accepted a
commission as Chaplain (with the rank of Captain) of the Second
Kentucky Volunteer Infantry and spent that time in the army at
Chickamauga Park outside of Chattanooga. Conditions of camp life at
that time took more lives than did the actual battlefields. Willis
spent his time visiting each of the hospitals, burying the dead in the
National Cemetery at Chattanooga, conseling the soldiers, and holding
outdoor services regulary. After the war he returned to active
ministry in Virginia preaching at several churches including,
Tasewell, Farmville, Del Ray Baptist Church of Alexandria and others.
He died on December 24, 1937 in Washingtion, D.C.. He was laid to
rest with Masonic and full military honors on "Chaplains Hill" in
Arlington National Cemetery overlooking Washington, D.C.. This
informaiton was taken from a paper composed by his daughter Josephine
Nelson Wayts Howdershell.
