In 1539 John FFOWNES bought from Andrew DUDLEY the "chief Mansion
House or messuage" on the property in Dodford in Bromsgrove that had
formery belonged to the Priory of Dodford (Vict. Hist. Worc's), He was
next mentioned in 1556 as one six of the "more discreet and approved
inhabitants of the town who were appointed to look after the
Bromesgrove school:(Idem). He died in 1573.
