MEEHAN, Alice F.
Alice F. MEEHAN, 80, passed away at McGraw Community Hospice center
after a short battle with cancer. Alice was born in Warsaw, VA. and
moved to Chicago as a young adult. She moved to St. Augustine in
1977, when she purchased the A1A Court Motel on Anastasia Island. She
rean the motel for four years, then retired to a wornderful life full
of golf and travel. Alice loved socializing, giving a good party,
getting dressed up and dancing. She was an avid bridge player,
playing Wednesdays and Fridays at Marsh Creek. She was a member of
the shores Golf Course, Ponce de Leon Golf Course and Marsh Creek
County Club. She served as President of the ladies golf association
at the Ponce de Leon Golf Course. She played in many tournaments and
claimed the unbelievable record of four holes-in-one during her
golfing days. She was predecesed by her parents, Frank and Sadie
FONES, brother, Thomas: sister, Annie May: husbands, Joseph STIBREK
and Lewis BLINN: and stepgrandson, Scott MEEHAN. She is survied by
her husband, George MEEHAN: sisters, Lois ROBERTS and Eunice MOST:
children, Linda (Pat) HARRINGTON, James (Brenda) WILLIAMS, E.J. HOBBS
and John (Margie) STIBURED, Step children, Jeff (Trisha) MEEHAN, Susan
(Dan) BRIDGERS, Steven (Susan) MEEHAN and Mark (Becky) MEEHAN: nine
grandchildren: nine step-grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
Vistation and prayers will be Tuesday, Jan. 5, from 5 to 7pm, at Craig
Funeral Home. The Funeral Mass will take place Wednesday, Jan. 6,
10am at San Sebastian Church, State Road 16 with burial at Craig
Memorial Park. In liew of flowers, donations to the American Cancer
Society would be greatly appreciated. Craig Funeral
Home-Crematory-Memorial Park is in charge of arrangements.

Foneswood, VA., Mrs. Mary S. FONES, wife of Mr Richard P. FONES, died
Saturday, the 6th inst. She had been afflicted forover six years
having lost almost the entire use of her left side, but up to a few
days previous to her death was in her usual health, and was in
constant attendance at the bedside of her husband, who has been very
ill for seveal weeks and ministered to him every attention in her
power. She was suddenly stricken speechless and helpless, and passed
away quietly and peacefully, without apparently any suffering. Her
remains were laid to rest in the family grave yard on Sunday. The
deceased was in her 47th year and a member of Ephesus Christian
Church. She leaves seven children and a sorrowing husband. May God
be with them and comfort them, and "put his arm unfailing around
them."
